We held our project launch on 26th February 2025 at Glasgow City Chambers which was well attended. We received feedback from many people saying they thoroughly enjoyed the event and meeting up with their old acquaintances!

Thanks to Bell & Bain for printing and delivering the books to the City Chambers on the day, allowing us to present a book to our oldest St Vincent’s former pupil, aged 96!

Thank you to Will Clark for the delivery of training on filming and interviewing skills, and Solar Bear for Adobe Premier Pro training sessions, at  St. Vincent’s Centre for the Deaf. A gallery of photos can be seen on this page. Click the arrows for an insight into these events!

Participants learned how key skills on editing video clips and adding subtitles onto these, which allows our participants to edit and add subtitles to our video interviews.

Special thanks to Morag and Syma, Glasgow Women’s Library, for the delivery of two workshops for the National Lottery Heritage Fund Project. A gallery of photos can be seen on this page. Click the arrows for an insight into these events!

Participants learned how to research their family and community history, as well as skills to produce their findings. Our deaf participants were really pleased to learn that findings can be done by not only writing, but by recording themselves on a video too! Ethics and copyright, was also included in the training session so that participants learned how to produce their findings authentically without breaking any rules.

Sample materials and instructions were kindly provided to the participants by Morag and Syma, which was really useful for giving ideas to the workshop participants.
